General Hospital blog - November, 2024

November 1st, 2024

Dante and Rocco are crushed by the news about Sam, and it doesn't help that her cause of death makes no sense and no one has any explanations. Dante says goodbye to his fiancée in a heartbreaking way, then confides to Sonny that he blames himself for her death because she wouldn't have donated to Lulu if it weren't for him and Rocco. He hates that he neglected Sam while he was spending time with Lulu after her hospitalization, and he feels like he and Rocco inadvertently put pressure on her to donate. Laura arrives in the middle of things and justifiably thinks that Dante and Rocco are upset because Lulu died. She tries to comfort Rocco, who admits to feeling jealous of Danny and Scout because they had their mom around while he didn't. Jason has to be the one to tell Scout and Danny that their mother is dead, which is as horrible as you would expect. Carly shares the news with Drew, who...listen, I don't care about Drew, and he's not there for Scout until after she finds out, so whatever. Molly and Kristina both show up at the penthouse with the intention of doing some nice things for Sam. Molly disapproves of Kristina's ideas, and to the surprise of exactly zero people, they end up fighting. Alexis finally shuts them up, but it's with news of their sister's death, so we can't even be happy about it. Robert and Holly spend the episode reminiscing about their relationship, complete with really old flashbacks. Georgie has decided that she's too old for Halloween, but her parents figure out that it's really because she feels peer-pressured to stop celebrating. Spinelli tells her a little about the history of the day and how it started as a way to honor the dead. Maxie admits that when she was about Georgie's age, her friends acted the same way, but original Georgie didn't think Maxie should listen to them. Now Maxie wishes she'd taken a page from that Georgie's book and just enjoyed herself.

Thank God for the weekend. I need a break.

I know I've said it before but the kid who plays Rocco is so good. And I haven't been as impressed with the kid who plays Danny, but he did great today. I especially liked the little indications he gave that Danny knew all along that something was wrong.

Ugh, Rocco's going to feel guilty again when Lulu wakes up, because he'll finally have his mom back while Danny and Scout won't have theirs, and I won't be able to take it.

Why did Drew sit there and talk to Carly instead of going to find Scout? Jason should have had someone with him when he told the kids.

Okay, like, 5 percent of the audience is going to understand Georgie's costume.

Rocco thinks that he put bad thoughts out into the universe by choosing Lulu over Sam in the hypothetical situation where only one of them could live. Laura assures him that that had nothing to do with Sam's death, and she wouldn't want him to dwell on it. Jason breaks the news to Maxie and Spinelli, who are just as wrecked over it as Sam's family. Jason credits Sam with being the reason he and Spinelli became friends in the first place. Molly and Kristina regret how their last interaction with Sam was an argument. Alexis tries to comfort them, but she's feeling her own grief so deeply that they're all kind of stuck. Holly isn't sure that Robert can ever get past the secrets she kept, so she figures it's time to leave town. Robert confirms that the trust between them is probably gone for good, but when they say goodbye, he kisses her, so...who knows? Dante doesn't know how to go on without Sam, who he thought just hours ago he was going to start a future with. Sonny encourages him to keep going for the kids' sake. Carly gives encouragement to Danny, who's already stepped into a caregiving role for Scout. She and Drew tell Danny and Scout the same thing separately: They have family who love them and will help them through this. Right now, though, Scout can't get past the fact that her mother is gone and Scout can't have her back, no matter how much she wants that.

Rocco and Scout are killing me. KILLING ME.

Didn't Holly originally tell Robert that he was Ethan's father? When it came out that it was actually Luke, Holly had the perfect opportunity to tell him about Sasha. Basically, all of her excuses are ridiculous and I'm tired of her.

I'm sorry but Sonny wasn't very good at comfort today. Someone call Olivia ASAP.

Danny sorting Scout's candy and taking out the stuff she doesn't like was so sweet.

It was nice of Jason to tell Maxie and Spinelli about Sam before they heard it from someone else, but he should have stayed with Danny. Speaking of that, Danny's scenes with Carly were nice, but it felt weird that they were with her. They should have been with Molly or Kristina instead.

Everyone keeps talking about Danny, Scout, and Rocco as a unit, but my guess is that they're never all going to live together again. Even Scout and Danny probably won't, unless Jason moves into the Quartermaines', which is highly doubtful. At least they'll be able to hang out there together, no matter where each ends up living.

Willow rips into Sasha for telling Cody things she wasn't supposed to, but Sasha has less patience for Willow than anyone else does (and that's saying a lot), and she puts all of the negative consequences of Willow's actions on her. Things briefly simmer down when Sasha tells Willow about Holly and Cody, but Willow's too self-centered to stop thinking about her own problems for more than five minutes. Holly finds her hotel room trashed and a knife stuck through one of her dresses in an obvious threat from Sidwell. As she rushes to Robert for help, Sidwell and some goons burst into the Quartermaines', grab Sasha, and tell Carly to pass a message on to her mother that he wants his diamonds back. Drew's struggling to accept that he's a single parent now, and Carly reminds him that he has plenty of Quartermaines to help him out. Willow's first instinct after hearing the news is to call Michael, but then she reaches out to Drew, which somehow, without any conversation, turns into them having sex. Ava hopes to mend her friendship with Nina, who's basically like, "I'm going to prove that we're good by telling you all my Drew-related secrets." She's done with him after the way he handled the scandal. Ava encourages her to tell Willow about her own romantic entanglement with Drew and cautions her not to let a guy ruin her relationship with her daughter like Ava did. Kristina turns to Michael for comfort, since Alexis and Molly aren't offering her much and God isn't coming through for her. So far, the Davis women are once again failing to help each other through their grief, though at least Molly and Alexis knowledge that they're going to have to find a way to adjust from having four of them to just having three. Jason continues his tour of bad news delivery by telling Diane about Sam. She finds it inconceivable that someone so strong would go out the way she did. Then she tells him about her woes with Robert and her belief that he's not over Holly, which has seemingly led her to decide to end things, but, like, this is a really bad time, Diane. Maybe stop thinking about yourself right now.

Yes, Sasha! Tear her apart!

Oh, that's why they wrote in Michael and Willow having sex last week – so she can get pregnant and not know who the father is. (I still think it would be a good twist for Sasha to get pregnant, too.)

I actually find it kind of refreshing that Alexis, who's usually strong and assertive, is freely admitting how powerless and distraught she feels.

Kristina seems to have forgotten that she's already an older sister.

The Diane/Jason scenes were dumb. What a ridiculous time for that conversation.

November 6th, 2024

Willow and Drew do their typical "this was a one-time thing, it can never happen again, we can never let anyone know" routine. When she next encounters Michael, she fully lies to him about her whereabouts, and she and Drew act like they're seeing each other for the first time that evening. She unknowingly left an earring behind in the playroom where they had sex, but that's the least of her problems – a nanny-cam teddy bear recorded the trust, and Michael sees everything on his phone. Carly goes straight to Brennan, thinking he'll be able to do something about Sasha's kidnapping. He guesses that Sidwell was the abductor, then brings in Anna to put the rest of the pieces together that Holly is Sasha's mother. Brennan's surprised that Carly came to him for help instead of Sonny or Jason. Holly admits to Robert that she stole diamonds from Sidwell, and now he's after them. Robert promises to help her, but he can't get her to tell him everything he might need to know in order to do so. Also, she doesn't want to have to give up the diamonds, since she has just as much right to them as Sidwell does (her logic doesn't really hold up, but okay). Anna tells them about Sasha's kidnapping, though she's worried that Holly won't do the right thing to save her daughter. Curtis checks in on Alexis and offers his support if she feels tempted to drink. She's already struggled through that and vows to stay sober to honor Sam, the person who organized the intervention to help her when her drinking first became a problem. Alexis tries to focus on planning Sam's funeral, but as she tells Sonny, it's too surreal when she hasn't accepted yet that her daughter is dead. Dante goes to the exact place he shouldn't right now, the penthouse, which just a couple days ago contained the family he was so happy to have. Sonny and Olivia can't get him to see any light at the end of the tunnel. Portia questions Isaiah about Lucas' part of the transplant surgery, making Isaiah wonder if she wants to pin Sam's death on him. Portia says she's just looking for answers and trying to protect the hospital's reputation, like, you gave the green light for him to operate on his sister, so you can't pretend now that it was a bad idea. Lucas fixates on finding out what happened to Sam while Brad debates whether to approach him.

Whatever Michael does with that footage, I hope it's public and memorable. Bonus points if he teams up with Ned and Tracy for it.

So, to recap, Drew wasn't there when Scout learned that her mother died because he was paying off Cody, and he wasn't there when she woke up from a nightmare because he was having sex with Willow. Father of the year, yeah?

I was just thinking that Curtis could be Alexis' sober buddy now that Finn is gone, and he'd already taken it upon himself to check in on her. Love ya, Curtis!

It's great that Dante thinks of Danny and Scout as his own, but someone's going to have to break it to him that...well, they're not, and they're likely going to live with their fathers.

Lucas, listen to me. Listen. Do not – DO NOT – have grief sex with Brad.

November 7th, 2024

Holly goes to Sonny to get back her diamonds and ends up dealing with Jason instead. He's hesitant to just hand them over, so he goes with her to meet up with Anna, Robert, and Brennan and figure out the best way to approach Sasha's rescue. Sasha tells Sidwell that Holly won't trade the diamonds for her, but if he lets her go, she'll con Holly into telling her where they are. Sidwell's like, "Yeah, no," and makes it clear that if Holly doesn't come through, he'll take it out on Sasha. Anna still doesn't trust Holly not to leave Sasha hanging, knowing that Robert will do whatever it takes to save her, and she can't do the rescuing herself, since Sidwell said no cops were allowed. Brennan and Robert need to keep their distance, so everyone agrees to let Jason handle the rescue. Alexis and Sonny talk about losing a child and her regrets over not having Sam in her life until she was an adult. Sonny reminds her that she didn't have any choice in the matter about placing Sam for adoption and assures her that she did a great job parenting in the small time she was given. Lucas shares his fears with Brad that he's the reason Sam died. Brad tries to comfort him, and it goes okay until Carly catches them hugging and lets loose on Brad. She takes over the comforting, but nothing is really going to help unless and until the autopsy confirms that Lucas didn't screw anything up and Sam's death wasn't related to the surgery. Curtis' takeaway from Sam's death is "sometimes bad things happen without warning and I shouldn't take anyone I love for granted in case I lose them." Portia's takeaway is "I really hope I didn't screw up by letting Lucas operate on his sister because that could reflect badly on me." Brennan sends Carly away instead of letting her continue trying to find and rescue Sasha. It's reasonable for her to fear for Carly's safety, since Sidwell could have her killed now that she's done the one thing he wanted her to do, but Carly suspects that it's more personal for him than he's letting on. It probably is, since he secretly has someone keep an eye on her.

I know this is kind of irrelevant considering everything going on, but who told Jason about Sasha's maternity?

Alexis' scenes should have been with someone else. It's weird that she opened up to Sonny the way she did.

Part of me is like, "Lucas can take care of himself, Carly," but another (bigger) part of me is like, "Thank God you chased Brad off before anything could happen."

I'm sorry, are you making this about yourself, Portia?

Hey, Carly, could you maybe talk to Brennan without flirting? This is kind of a serious situation.

November 8th, 2024

Jason meets with Sidwell to hand over the diamonds, though he won't give them all up until he gets proof that Sasha's alive. Sasha's in the middle of trying to get access to a vent to escape the office she's been put in, but Sidwell isn't worried, since he has the ability to immediately arm a bomb that will go off in five minutes. Jason promptly gives him the diamonds and races to rescue Sasha. They're both out of danger before the bomb goes off, and Sidwell is able to escape in the ensuing chaos. Robert and Holly are deeply relieved to see their daughter safe and sound, and Sasha's surprised that Holly traded the diamonds for her. Cody tells Tracy that he and Sasha are done because they're first cousins. She thinks he dodged a bullet because Sasha's probably more like Holly than he thinks. The conversation shifts to Drew, and Cody admits that he took a hush payment after the confrontation at the bar. Tracy thinks he should have held out for more and enlists him to keep an eye on Drew so they can eventually take him down together. Alexis tells Olivia that she wants Scout and Danny to come live with her. If Drew wins his election, he'll be in D.C. a lot, and she doesn't think Sam would want Danny on his own with Jason. She tries to bring up the subject with Dante, who at this point is just trying to keep breathing and isn't thinking about the future. Getting Sam's engagement ring back is almost more than he can take. Instead of, like, comforting his daughter or something, Ric is staying focused on Ava's upcoming trial. He bugs Anna about the pictures taken outside Ava's hotel room the day of Kristina's fall and guesses that Jason provided them. In that case, he figures she's very naïve for believing that they're authentic. Brook and Chase are ready to finally get around to trying to conceive. They're pretty much the only happy people at the Quartermaines' right now, and it would be nice if they would be a little more subtle about it, especially in front of Dante. Anna learns about the explosion before she hears anything about the rescue, but she suspects that Jason was somehow involved and demands to talk to him about it.

Sasha's been so awesome lately that I wouldn't have been surprised if she'd defused the bomb.

What, exactly, was Brennan's contribution to the rescue mission? Jason did all the work.

Does Alexis think Dante has any say in where Scout and Danny live? Does she think Drew will just be like, "Yes, go ahead, take custody of my child"?

I can't believe it took Tracy 24 hours to complain that Sasha wasn't around, doing her job.

I also can't believe that we still haven't had a Jason/Ric scene. This would be the perfect time; Jason really deserves to punch someone.

Brook and Chase, read the room. You can't be openly happy like that in a house full of people in mourning.

November 11th, 2024

Drew returns Willow's earring to her, but it's obviously just an excuse to see her again because he has to know that she really, seriously doesn't want to be around him. Their entire conversation is just repeats of stuff they've said before – they made a mistake, they can't be friends, in difference circumstances they might have had something but not in this life, etc. Michael comes home, sees them together through the window, and immediately calls Diane. Kristina gets into a car accident with Natalia and ends up opening up to her about her recent losses. Natalia and Sonny both tell her how strong and brave she is and blah, blah, blah, this is dumb. I would have greatly preferred to hear more of Michael and Sonny's conversation about Michael's marriage. Felicia urges Sasha to not just write off Holly, since Felicia's been in her position and lost the chance to ever repair things with one of her daughters. Sasha reaches out to her mother only to learn that she's checked out of her hotel room. Holly was going to use the diamonds to pay off a debt she owes because of some assignment she did for the WSB, and now she wants Brennan to give her money to make up for what she had to give up. All Brennan can offer her is a flight to Portugal, which she accepts. This could be crushing for Robert, who's decided he needs to break up with Diane because he'll never love her the way he loves Holly. Mac accepts that, even though two minutes ago, he was slamming Robert for continually letting Holly back into his life just to get hurt again. Alexis goes back to work so she has something to think about other than Sam and how helpless she feels about everything in her life. Diane keeps it from her that she's working on Sam's will. Anna bugs Jason to tell her how the explosion connects to Sasha's kidnapping, but he won't talk. She's all, "I thought we were friends," and he's all, "I don't tell my friends everything just because they ask," and I'm all, "I'm pretty sure you guys had this conversation before, so why hasn't Anna learned anything?" Jason promises that Anna that, despite whatever weird thing she thinks is going on with their so-called friendship, he's still going to help her track down Valentin. Brennan, however, cautions him not to, because it won't end well for Anna.

"I'll do whatever you want." STOP TALKING TO HER. SHE'S TOLD YOU 6,000 TIMES THAT'S WHAT SHE WANTS. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU??

No. Stop trying to redeem Natalia. She hasn't earned that.

They shouldn't have even hinted that Sasha could be pregnant. It would be much more fun if it came out of the blue in a few weeks.

Robert, the difference between your relationship with Holly and Mac's relationship with Felicia is that Felicia stopped hurting Mac.

This is the first time Diane has seen Alexis since Sam died? Diane, you're a horrible best friend.

November 12th, 2024

Holly asks Anna to look after Robert because she's about to disappear again. Anna offers up other ways to handle her money situation and protect herself, but Holly's resigned to leaving. Robert goes to break up with Diane, who beats him to the punch by cutting him loose to get back together with Holly. She then meets up with Anna, who tells her that Holly's leaving, so everyone's going to end up single. Robert tracks down Holly before she can get on a plane and announces that he's coming with her (but only temporarily, it seems). Lulu's doing better and could be released from the hospital in as soon as a couple of weeks. Laura's hesitant to send her to another long-term-care facility and urges her to wake up so she can get full use out of the gift Sam has given her. Lucky, unsurprisingly, is ready to flee town again, since it's too hard, or whatever, to stick around. Elizabeth blasts him for slinking away since he couldn't be the hero he wanted to be and reminds him that Sam, the real hero here, doesn't get to be with her kids again through no choice of her own. Jason wants to do as much as he can not to separate Danny, Scout, and Rocco, but with three fathers involved, it's not that easy. Elizabeth suggests that he move into the Quartermaines' so all the kids can stay there. That's probably not going to happen, but in addition to Danny's opinion, Jason wants everyone's input before he makes any decisions. He assures Danny that no matter what, he's not going anywhere. Trina has a meet-cute with a football player named Kai who Josslyn knows all about but Trina doesn't. He's supposed to do a class project with her, but he's such a hot NFL prospect that he only focuses on football and lets someone else take care of all his academic stuff. Trina's completely unimpressed and lectures him about how his self-centeredness is affecting her. To his credit, Kai quickly tries to get things set right.

What a ridiculous ending. Holly spends a month talking about how much she cares about Sasha, then just leaves. And instead of sticking around to get to know his daughter, Robert follows her. I assume he'll be back in a month or so, mopey because Holly ditched him somewhere in the middle of the night. Mac will says, "You're an idiot. Let's get a beer."

I can't decide which smackdown today was better, Trina's on Kai or Elizabeth's on Lucky.

"Dr. Robinson has agreed to update us." What do you mean, "agreed"? It's her job!

I love Trina calling Kai "Obi-Wan" because QB1 means nothing to her.

But if Trina's getting a new love interest, what is the point of Gio?

November 13th, 2024

Drew won, so everyone who hates him or wants to keep their distance from him for whatever reason is about to be able to breathe a sigh of relief. Michael tells Jason all about the Willow/Drew mess and his fears that his marriage isn't going to last. Jason urges him to talk to Willow so he can at least get some clarity. Kristina wasn't going to tell Alexis about her car accident, but she changes her mind. She's been trying to figure out her purpose in life and why she's still alive when Irene and Sam aren't, and she's decided to devote herself to making sure Ava faces justice. Maxie bugs Nina about her failure to tell Willow that she's been sleeping with Drew. Maxie thinks it's because it's still happening, but Nina insists that they're over. Maxie's just glad that Drew will soon be going to D.C. Lois has been left out of the recent Quartermaine gossip, so she bugs Brook and Ned to fill her in. They both refuse to tell her anything since she can't keep a secret. Then there's some sort of weirdness when Gio shows up, so...I don't know. I'm tired. Curtis figures that Drew is going to make him the permanent CEO of Aurora, and he wants to use the extra money he'll get from that to start a music program at the community center. Drew actually wants the job to go to Michael, who can barely stand to be in the same room as him and may be about to confront Willow about what he saw on the nanny cam. Jason tells Spinelli that he's having a dilemma about Danny's future because he wants to live with Jason but doesn't want to be separated from Scout and Rocco. He's not sure if he should let Danny make the final decision or if it would be good for Danny to live with someone other than him. Brennan thinks that Drew only got together with Carly because of what she could do for his social standing. He also seems to think that all friendships include a degree of using each other, so I don't know why Carly doesn't just roll her eyes and walk away from him. Sasha and Gio accidentally see a book Chase bought about parenting, so now they know that he and Brook are trying to have a baby, which is apparently what passes for a plotline for Gio. Sonny and Natalia talk about parenting and their daughters and Adela and you all know I don't care about this stuff.

"Willow's not capable of a one-night stand. It's not who she is." Well, six months ago, I would have said she also wasn't capable of kissing her husband's uncle, so I think it's time to reevaluate what we think we know about her.

Looks like my wish for Jason to get to punch someone is going to come true.

Remember when it looked like they were going to put Drew and Jordan together? She really dodged a bullet.

Kristina should talk to Curtis and get involved in the music program he wants to start. That'll be a much better purpose to be alive for when Ava is inevitably acquitted.

Jason asking Spinelli for parenting advice – who ever thought we'd see that?

Carly: "You're disgusting." Brennan: "Oh, stop flirting, darling, we're in public." Heh.

November 14th, 2024

Jason greets Drew at the Quartermaines' with a smack in the face, and the two of them square up in a fistfight while Nina just stands there and screams. Ned eventually breaks things up, and though Drew seems clueless about what sparked the violence, Jason's pretty sure he knows exactly what it was. Michael and Willow agree that they want to fight for their marriage, and he gives her another chance to be completely honest with him. Just when it looks like they might both confess to their infidelity, Nina interrupts to send Willow to give Drew medical attention. She wants to call the police, but Drew and Ned shut her down. For some reason, Ned's mad that Michael told Jason about Willow and Drew, as if Michael isn't allowed to tell whoever he wants that his wife is cheating on him. Molly's family is all busy with other things and/or sucks, so she spends her birthday alone, then with Isaiah, who she's literally just met. Eventually, Kristina turns up with a really thoughtful present that Molly genuinely appreciates. Ric puts Ava through a trial run of her court testimony, throwing questions at her about Connie and Morgan. She gives impassioned responses about how she would never put another mother through the same loss she experienced and how she would do anything to bring back Irene. Ric's pleased and thinks she has a real shot at getting acquitted. Kristina believes that justice will prevail for her, which means Ava will finally be punished for all her crimes and she'll have her own daughter ripped away from her. Alexis notes that Kristina's idea of justice sounds a lot like revenge. She thinks Kristina's not being realistic about the possible outcome of the trial and is vastly overestimating how well she'll hold up when Ric gets her on the stand. Trina runs into Kai again and rejects his efforts to make things right, as she's already arranged to work with someone else in the class he hasn't even bothered to show up for yet. Brook finally cracks and tells Lois about the Drew/Willow mess, which Lois is already having trouble keeping under wraps. T.J. spends another episode talking to someone other than Molly (this time Trina) about the problems in his relationship.

Does anyone NOT know about Drew and Willow's make-out sessions now?

Why does Ned care that Jason attacked Drew? A week ago, he was trying to ruin Drew. Why does he care about media attention or a scandal?

I can buy Alexis and Kristina overlooking Molly's birthday, but T.J.? Stella? RIC? Molly deserves better.

Just two weeks after losing her sister, Molly's reading a book about sisters that famously features one of them dying? Does she hate herself??

"I can handle Ric." Oh, sweetie. No, you can't.

All the practice questions Ric asked Ava were ones he would object to and easily get excluded, so that was dumb.

November 15th, 2024

Carly interrogates Jason about why he attacked Drew, but Jason refuses to tell her. She's worried that Drew will press charges and Jason will end up in prison, which will mean another disruption in Danny's life. Jason isn't concerned. Drew hires Ric, not to go after Jason but to get him to sign an NDA and help Drew avoid a scandal (again). Ric is itching to do more, but Drew won't get the police involved when it could mean Jason isn't able to go to Sam's funeral. Ric presents a deal to Jason in which Drew doesn't press charges if Jason keeps his mouth shut, but Jason declines, though he basically agrees to the terms. Lucky goes to Sonny for advice on his urge to leave town again and find something that makes him feel like he's making a difference. Sonny thinks he should be his own person like Luke was and not just do what others want him to. Elizabeth laments to Terry that she let herself believe that Lucky might stick around and continue being in Aiden's life consistently. She admits that she wanted that for herself, too, because her feelings for him aren't completely gone. Thinking she has to save Jason from himself, Carly goes to Drew, who isn't surprised that she's standing up for the guy who just attacked him unprovoked. He thinks this is a perfect example of why he and Carly didn't work out. Carly points out that he didn't even give her the chance to prove that her whole life doesn't revolve around Jason. Also, she figures that if Jason was mad enough to risk hitting Drew with witnesses around and their children upstairs, Drew must have really deserved it. Terry offers Isaiah a job, but he thinks he can do more good returning to aid work in underserved areas. Jordan makes him question that by pointing out that his skills as a surgeon would go to waste. Anna's worried that Robert and Holly's apparent happily ever after will end badly, like it always has. Felicia thinks things will be different this time because of Sasha, and she doubts that Robert has left Port Charles forever.

Yessss, I finally got my long-awaited Ric/Jason scenes. They were all I wanted and more.

Jason has all the power here. Drew has to know that if he pursues a court case, Jason will have no problem spilling everything he knows on the stand.

Ric: "You wanna hit me, don't you, Jason?" Jason: "Who doesn't?" Ha!

The idea of Drew asking Ric to "broker a deal" with Jason is...I need a word stronger than "ridiculous." It's also ridiculous for Drew to trust Ric with anything, considering the whole Hayden fiasco.

Carly's going to find out about the Drew and Willow stuff and be like, "Jason, punch him again."

The best person for Lucky to have the should-I-stay-or-should-I-go? conversation with is Dante, but obviously, the timing is bad.

"If what I'm looking for isn't here, why should I stay?" If your son and your mother aren't enough of a reason, you've majorly messed something up.

I'm on Elizabeth's side in all of this, but why is she acting like Lucky has left multiple times over the years? He's only left twice, in 2011 and in 2015 (when he'd only been back briefly, to drop off Jake).

November 18th, 2024

Drew lies to Scout about how he sustained the injuries from his fight with Jason, and since she's a kid and is preoccupied with her grief, she buys it. Nina comes over to help him disguise his bruises and expresses her disapproval over his decision not to have Jason arrested for Danny's sake. Drew is determined to honor Sam's request for him and Jason to put the kids first. Nina thinks he'll at least be able to put off revealing anything until after the funeral, but Rocco overhears them talking about Drew and Jason's fight. Molly and Kristina manage to keep the peace in the time leading up to the funeral, during which Alexis comes close to a meltdown, T.J. finally steps up for his partner, and Ric thinks it's a good idea to show up at Alexis' house to be all, "Yeah, one of your daughters died, but another just had a birthday, which you forgot – never mind that I didn't give her a present until today because I couldn't be bothered yesterday." Brennan has a job opportunity for Lucky back in Africa and seems eager to get him there within the next 24 hours. Elizabeth has just given Aiden a heads-up that Lucky will likely leave again, something that doesn't surprise or bother Aiden. Elizabeth praises him for acting more maturely than she did, and if Lucky tells her he's leaving, I expect her to go off on him again. Lucas shares his feelings of guilt with Maxie, who refuses to let him blame himself for Sam's death. Just as he's getting somewhere in lessening the burden on himself, Danny straight out accuses him of letting Sam die. Kai tries very hard to win over Trina, who's beyond tired of his whole entitlement thing and doesn't want to have to put extra effort into their partnership because he might not be able to keep up. He insists that he can handle their class and make things up to her. Cody and Olivia give Dante support, trying to get him to think about happy memories instead of his bleak, depressing future. Aware that their living situation is likely never going to be the same again, Danny and Rocco assure each other that they'll always be brothers.

Danny said that Rocco also overheard a conversation about where the kids would live, so I guess we should have expected him to overhear something else.

Oh, hey, Ric, do you want to tell Molly who you were with on her birthday instead of her, or shall I? And can I be there when Alexis finds out that she wasn't the only one of Molly's parents who didn't acknowledge her birthday on the actual day? P.S. Go f%$# yourself.

The actor playing Kai is excellent in that role. He's hitting the perfect balance between big man on campus and guy who's secretly a sweetheart.

Danny and Rocco agreeing that they'll always be brothers was so sweet, but all I can think about is how awkward it'll be for them when Rocco gets his mom back and Danny's is still gone.

Everyone says really nice things about Sam at her funeral, and there are flashbacks, and the audience continues seething at the people responsible for this horrible turn of events. Lucas skips the funeral to go to Julian's grave, where Ava gives him support and shows that she's on his side even if others aren't so happy with him right now. While everyone else in town is mourning and thinking about what they've lost, one family gets something back: Lulu's awake.

Please take note: None of my former enemies are allowed to speak at my funeral.

Thank you to whoever decided they should show Jason when Danny mentioned Noodle Buddha. Also thank you for the inclusion of the tire scene, because that's something I'll never forget.

Lucky, who hasn't spoken to Sam in 15 years, said something at the service, but Drew didn't?

Didn't need the reminder that Sam and Sonny were once together, thanks.

Laura should have gone to the funeral. The woman died saving your daughter, Laura! Lucky shouldn't have been the only Spencer representative there! Also would have been nice if Diane had attended the funeral of her best friend's daughter.

Ava mentioning all of Julian's kids made me wonder if Sonny ever told anyone about Andy.

Interesting to have Lulu wake up at the end of an episode that was otherwise completely about Sam.

Before Lulu can really register where she is (Turning Woods) or what's going on, she hears Cyrus talking to her doctor. By pretending to still be comatose, she's able to overhear that she's been in a coma, she had a liver transplant, and her condition has greatly improved since she left her last long-term-care facility. Oh, and Cyrus is her uncle. He wants to be the one to tell Laura how well she's doing, since, as he claims, he doesn't want to get her hopes up that Lulu will wake up. He also creepily promises to take care of Lulu, who's clearly not on board for that. The results of Sam's autopsy are in and they show that her death had nothing to do with her surgery. Lucas is as relieved as he can be while still having lost his sister, but now the spotlight is on Elizabeth. Sam died from an overdose of digitalis, and since Elizabeth was in charge of a lot of her care, it's on her to prove she didn't give it. Sam never updated her will after Jason came back earlier this year, so it states that she wants Drew to raise both Scout and Danny. Molly and Alexis wonder if she intentionally didn't update it because she didn't trust Jason to keep Danny safe. Alexis is determined to keep the kids together and ensure that Sam's wishes are honored. Lucky and Elizabeth try to comfort Lucas over what Danny said to him, but since Lucas already blames himself, Danny didn't say anything more hurtful than what Lucas has already said to himself. Danny, to his credit, feels bad about it and discusses the situation with Jason. Jason admits to also having trouble regulating his emotions, which Danny guesses is the reason he attacked Drew. He lectures Jason on his actions and how they could have affected Scout, and Jason promises it won't happen again. Dante jumps into the blame game, thinking that he's responsible for Sam's death because she was trying to do something good for him and Rocco. Kristina reminds him of all the things people said about her at the funeral, like how she was generous and caring, and how she never would have done something she didn't want to do. Alexis is upset that Ric is going to make Molly testify against Kristina at Ava's trial, because the Davises haven't gone through enough already and Ric doesn't care about his daughter's relationship with her sister. Brennan approaches Lucky again about accepting a WSB assignment, and just going off of Lucky's attitude toward him, that isn't going to work out.

Lulu faking being asleep while Cyrus was there was both smart and funny.

Sounds like the rumor I read about Sam's cause of death might be right. It still makes no sense, though.

Great, another plotline where a character is accused of doing something we know for a fact she didn't do.

They've really shaped Danny into a great character. I liked seeing him tell Jason all the ways he screwed up, but in a way that wasn't disrespectful. I love how much he thinks about Scout and wants to make sure she's okay.

I'm holding out hope that as soon as Ava's trial starts, Ric asks for a dismissal and the judge agrees that there's not enough evidence. We don't need more Molly/Kristina warring. We don't need to sit through scrutiny of something that didn't happen. I think it would be more interesting if it never got off the ground and everyone had to deal with disappointment over not getting justice.

Alexis forces Drew and Jason to sit in the same room at the same time while she tells them what Sam's will says about the kids. Jason has standing to try to get custody of Danny, but he wants Danny's input and is going to weigh all the options before deciding what's best for his son. Alexis guesses that the brothers fought each other and tells them to knock off their rivalry for the kids' sake. Drew thinks that Jason's assault on him is an indication that he shouldn't be raising Danny on his own. Alexis suggests that she take the kids, but Drew's not on board. Jason goes to Sonny for advice, since Sonny's been through multiple custody battles, and Sonny's basically like, "Do everything necessary to keep Drew from taking your kid from you." While Dex befriends Kai, Josslyn tries to convince Trina not to write him off before he's gotten a chance to prove that he's not the guy she thinks he is. Trina finds it hard to give up control of something to a person she doesn't know, and she figures that Kai has already shown who he really is. He surprises her by coming to a meeting about their group project prepared and willing to do the work. She's starting to soften toward him, and Josslyn is definitely rooting for them. Michael tells Sasha that Drew and Willow took things beyond kissing but don't know that he knows. He wants to confront Willow, but he feels like he'd have to come clean about his own extramarital activities. If he does, he promises to leave Sasha's name out of it. Chase thinks that Dante and Rocco should either keep living in the penthouse or move into the Quartermaines'. Dante's still in that state where he's not sure what he's doing from one hour to the next, but he doesn't think he can say in the penthouse when the family he was so happy with won't all be together. Josslyn extends an olive branch to Kristina by expressing condolences over he recent losses. Kristina thanks her for saving her life and is pleased to hear that Josslyn will be testifying against Ava at her trial. T.J. beats himself up for forgetting Molly's birthday (though, to his credit, he'd already gotten her a present, so he didn't complete forget about it). He's put together that Drew and Jason had a physical fight and advises Jordan to get some new friends. She's like, "I may have already met someone, actually," but we all know that's likely going to go beyond just friendship. Sonny gives Kristina encouragement about her court testimony, but he's more concerned with how she comes out of all her hardships than he is about Ava being punished or not punished.

The stuff with Danny and Scout is playing out pretty much exactly as I'd expected – Drew will never let Alexis take Scout, and Jason is fine with whatever Danny wants (unless that's to live with Drew, I assume).

No one's brought up the fact that Drew's going to be working in D.C. Is he planning to move Scout there? Would Danny go, too? There's another layer to all this that no one's thinking about.

We've now had Sonny support Lucky's desire to leave the country and encourage Jason to fight Drew for Danny. That's enough advice-giving, Godfather.

I guess Chase doesn't know that the penthouse was originally Jason's, so for Dante and Rocco to stay there would be kind of weird.

I like that Dex gets along with Trina's new love interest, since he didn't get along with her last one, and the guys are likely going to be going on a lot of double dates together.

Pretty gutsy of Dex to work out at Sonny's gym.

Looks like Josslyn and Kristina's rivalry is finally over. And it only took them realizing that they have something in common: They both hate Ava.

No one's allowed to say "justice" anymore. Stop it.

So...is Lulu still on the floor?

November 22nd, 2024

The morning of Ava's trial, Molly breaks the news to Kristina that she's been subpoenaed to testify for the defense. Kristina urges her to outplay Ric at his own game and throw as much responsibility on Ava as she can. Molly's hesitant to get too close to the line between honesty and perjury, but she agrees that this is the best way to get justice. The sisters are finally aligned and are now referring to Irene as "our daughter." Ric is confident that Ava's going to win, and not just because he's arrogant about his skills as a defense attorney. He also still thinks that this is the best way to get Molly to move forward and accept that Irene's death was no one's fault. He's off to a bad start, though, as Molly and T.J. both criticize him for not giving Molly a heads-up that she was going to be called to testify. Jason asks Dante for his input on the question of where the kids should live. Watching the kids interact lets them see how close they are and agree that they shouldn't be split up. Scout has already gotten assurance from Drew that she doesn't have to move to D.C., so Dante decides that he and Rocco will stay at the Quartermaines'. As for Danny, check the weather in Hell, because it may have frozen over: Jason is moving back into the mansion. Michael warns Curtis that he likely won't be CEO of Aurora for long, since Drew wants to oust him in favor of Michael. Michael wants to turn Curtis against Drew and team up with him to take over Aurora. Curtis doesn't like that Michael's motivated by revenge, and Michael doesn't like that Curtis is so naïve to what Drew could be capable of, considering the things he's already done. Now that Sasha's basically been abandoned by both of her parents, Mac and Felicia step in to offer her any family support she needs or keep their distance if she doesn't want it. She appreciates their kindness but is still getting used to having a family, so it may take her a little while to warm up to them. P.S. She bought a pregnancy test. T.J.: "I'm not going to Ava's trial because Molly said I don't have to and also I don't want to and I haven't thought about the possibility that my partner is just taking the path of least resistance and won't tell me that she actually wants me to be there with her." Stella: "Stop being an idiot." T.J. "Yes, ma'am." Trina's nervous that the prosecutor will twist her testimony to make Ava look guilty. Gio gives her some encouragement and is pretty generous about the fact that Trina's going to support Ava.

Edward just sat up in his grave and bellowed, "Well, it's about time!"

Don't worry, Scout – if Tracy wants to yell at you for accidentally making a mess (or anything else), she'll have to come through me.

I'm telling myself that Michael was lifting weights because he wants to be the third person in a month to punch Drew.

I'm wondering of Sofia Mattsson is pregnant again and that's why they're speed-running a possible Sasha pregnancy.

Having Robert leave town right after the revelation that he's Sasha's father was a bad idea.

T.J. needs to be at the trial, if only for the optics. A jury would expect the father of the child who died to be at the trial of the person accused of killing her.

"Please don't take this the wrong way but why are you here?" Good question, Trina. Why are you here, Gio?

November 25th, 2025

Ava's trial starts with a lopsided courtroom, as Trina is the only person on the defendant's side. After some testimonies from witnesses and medical personnel, Kristina testifies about the fall, saying that Ava pushed her. But her flashbacks of the incident show that she remembers things clearly and knows that Ava's innocent. Ric is up next to question her, so if there are going to be fireworks, they'll start exploding soon. Lulu learns that she's being transferred to a facility in South Carolina and decides this is a good time for a prison break. She pulls a fire alarm, steals some clothes from an employee, and makes it out to a road, where she's going to hitchhike her way back to Port Charles. Curtis can't get in touch with Drew, and he confides to Jordan that he's worried that a friend is going to screw him over. Drew isn't answering his phone because he's...you know, screwing Curtis over. He apologizes to Michael for kissing Willow (just the one time, right, Drew? And just a kiss, nothing else?), then offers to make him CEO of Aurora. Michael guesses it's to appease him, but Drew says it's also because Curtis isn't cut out for the position. In addition, he claims he never offered the job to Curtis and never intended to install him as permanent CEO. Michael secretly records the conversation, and as soon as it's over, he calls Curtis and plays the part where Drew says he's choosing Michael over him.

I wish they'd done all this without having Kristina commit perjury. The situation was interesting enough without that.

You just know Kristina wore black to court because she wants this to be Ava's funeral.

If I were capable of feeling bad for Ava, I would be sympathetic about her only having one person on her side of the courtroom. (I guess Nina's busy.) But...well, you know.

We don't need to see the fall multiple times from multiple angles, thanks.

I guess they're not telling the jury about Ric's connection to the mother of the baby this whole trial is about.

I find it pretty suspicious that Laura would move Lulu to Turning Woods because it's close to home, then approve of having her transferred to South Carolina. Cyrus is lying about her approving the move, yes?

November 26th, 2024

Lulu manages to grab a ride with someone who doesn't know her but is absolutely no threat to her: Cody. They chat about their lives a little, neither mentioning any details that would make the other realize that they know the same people. Lulu thinks that only a couple of days have passed and she can go straight home and get back to her life. Ric tries to make Dante look like he wants Ava to be convicted so Sonny will get full custody of Avery. Nothing about that sticks, but Ric is much more successful when he starts tearing into Kristina about going back on her word about Irene, targeting Ava because of what she did to Morgan, and her failure to protect Irene in favor of threatening Ava. He ends up yelling at her about how Irene's death is her responsibility, and I think that breakdown Sonny and Alexis have been worrying about may finally be in the offing. A Turning Woods administrator calls Lucky to break the news that Lulu has gone missing. Lucky and Elizabeth head straight over and learn that she disappeared during a fire drill. The whole thing mostly just confuses them until they learn that just before the disappearance, Lulu was visited by Cyrus. Sasha confides in Maxie that she thinks she could be pregnant, though she leaves out the name of the father. She's scared about the possibility of being a single mother or of losing another baby like she lost Liam. She was only able to get through that because of Brando, who she won't have to help her again. Maxie reminds her that she has a whole big family who will be by her side whenever she needs them. She finally convinces Sasha to stop stalling and take the pregnancy test, which confirms Sasha's fears. Elizabeth tells Lucky about the investigation at the hospital about Sam's death, and he decides to dust off his detective skills to solve the mystery. Elizabeth says she doesn't need his help, but considering this means he'll be staying in town for the foreseeable future, she shouldn't protest too much.

Can we talk about why Lulu would flee a hospital and go home instead of, like, asking someone to call her family?

Normally I'd yell at Lulu for getting in a car with a man she doesn't know and literally taking candy from a stranger, but this was one situation where she had nothing to worry about.

I was going to say that Cody has to have seen pictures of Lulu, but someone pointed out that he actually saw her in person when she was at GH. So...why didn't he recognize her when she was in his car?

I wish Lulu had told Cody that her name was Trixie.

No judge would let a lawyer yell at a witness the way Ric yelled at Kristina. But Port Charles judges are definitely a different breed.

Ric is awful and his methods are no better, but his strategy made sense. He demonstrated that Kristina's word isn't always trustworthy and that her hatred of Ava could be the reason she's claiming what she is.

"I don't trust Ric." Oh, you don't? You don't trust Ric, Sonny? What a shocking revelation!

November 27th, 2024

Lulu is very confused to see James in what she thinks is her house, and he's very confused that some random woman has let herself in and is saying the house is hers. She runs when he yells for Maxie and randomly goes to the Quartermaines', where she briefly encounters Gio. Her confusion continues when he mentions that Lois moved back to Port Charles last year. The first person she runs into who actually knows her is Rocco, and the sight of him – taller and four years older – throws her for a loop. Since the judge at Ava's trial seems to have no problem with a lawyer yelling at a witness on the stand, Alexis steps in and tells Ric to can it. The judge threatens to punish her, so Alexis leaves for the rest of the trial. Ric puts Natalia back on the stand and tries to get her to testify that Kristina caused their car accident and was unstable afterward. Natalia lies that she caused the accident, and while Ric totally knows she's perjuring herself, he can't do anything about it. Next he brings in Molly and makes her testify about Kristina's anger at Ava. By the end, she's unwillingly painted her sister as the aggressor. Finally, Ava testifies on her own behalf, telling the truth about what happened while simultaneously putting on an act that she's heartbroken for Kristina and Molly. Molly worries that Kristina's sunk the case, and Kristina's worried that the jury will buy Ava's act. Maxie thinks James is lying about a woman coming into the house, but a camera on the porch confirms his story. Maxie and Spinelli aren't sure what to do next, and they consider getting the police involved, at the very least so James can try to ID the intruder. He does that on his own, spotting a picture of Lulu in a photo album. Lucky justifiably assumes that Cyrus had something to do with Lulu's disappearance, and he demands to see security footage from Turning Woods. Then he goes to confront Cyrus, who's just been informed of the situation by a Turning Woods employee and can honestly say that he doesn't know where Lulu is. Lucky vows to have Cyrus frozen out of anything involving Lulu, but Cyrus thinks he's more of a family member to her than her brother who's been away for years. Lucky finally gets the security footage, and he and Elizabeth are stunned to see Lulu leaving Turning Woods on her own. Brook and Chase are hard at work trying to have a baby, and they don't do much to hide from the mansion residents that that's what they're doing. Chase appreciates the fact that he and Brook are going to be doing all the parenting stuff for the first time together. Brook's strange facial expression plus Lois' awkwardness after mentioning multiple grandchildren rather than just one makes it seem like the Brook-is-Gio's-birth-mother speculation is back on the table.

Why did Lulu go to the Quartermaines'?? This is so bizarre.

Also, imagine if she'd walked in during Thanksgiving dinner.

If Lulu hadn't run into Rocco, which other characters she's never met before (or who are too young to remember meeting her before) would she have had contrived run-ins with? Natalia? Dex? Wiley? Probably Wiley.

If I were Molly, I would have been really tempted to just blurt out, "My dad hates his brother and that's why he's harrassing my sister in open court."

Ric asking if Kristina was "irrational" after the car accident makes me wonder if he knows what that word means. Her crashing her car because she was upset about her sister's death has no connection to what happened in the hotel room.

Security protocols at Turning Woods sound insane. They couldn't find Lulu, so they called a family member, then got offended when he accused them of being incompetent and asked for his patience while they kept looking. Why did you call the family if you thought you were going to find her?

I'm willing to buy that Brook is Gio's birth mother, but not that Dante is his father. If he were, we would have seen scenes between them by now, especially with Dante staying at the mansion. Also, why didn't Brook tell Chase that she had a child?
